Zen Internet, an internet service provider, today re-launched its website www.zen.co.uk as part of its continual improvements to its online presence. The company avers that design improvements have been made to the site and new navigation introduced, making finding the right information quickly, much easier for visitors to the site.

It states that additionally, the product and service information has been split into customer segments. Tailoring the information on these pages will further enhance a visitor’s browsing experience. The Knowledge Base and the Support Forum have also been updated to reflect the new design. The Knowledge Base is the online resource that includes help and support articles. The Support Forum is the online community area where its customers can discuss aspects of their service and other topics. The company adds that further enhancements to these areas are planned in the near future.

It mentions that it is also today launching the official company Twitter account, @zeninternet. An official company Facebook presence is planned for launch later in the summer. Company tweets are likely to include: latest company news, awards, status alerts, plus any general commentary regarding the company. The company says that visitors may provide feedback about the changes to the site, through the feedback link on the footer of every page of the website.

“These new developments are just part of the ongoing improvements in our online presence. The new look website aims to make it easier for visitors to browse the site and find the information they are looking for. We are also really excited about launching our presence on Twitter and look forward to networking and communicating with the growing social media community,” said Andrew Saunders, Head of Product Management and Marketing, Zen Internet.

The Planet, a privately held dedicated hosting company, yesterday announced that Dynapp, Inc., a provider of dynamic website and applications building tools, has adopted its new Server Cloud as an added service for its existing hosting platform. The company says that headquartered in Macon, Ga., Dynapp provides a broad array of applications and services for websites and web based businesses, all built on its proprietary content management system. Additional Dynapp services include development of ecommerce systems, email newsletters and other web related requirements.

It avers that the Dynapp framework eliminates the complexities associated with website development and management by offering “plain English” directions for its users. The company adds that Dynapp also provides hosting solutions for its clients who opt to have Dynapp manage their websites with around the clock support.

“We expressly designed Server Cloud to meet the requirements clearly articulated by our customers,” said Tom Blair, Vice President of Global Sales for The Planet. “Customers rely on us for high availability, seamless scalability and generous bandwidth, which they’ll find in our new Server Cloud. There’s already been tremendous interest in this new offering, as an important and attractive option to add to their existing hosting capabilities, because of the significant value it provides.”

“Our clients count on us for unequivocal service and reliability,” said Dynapp Chief Technology Officer Wes Byrd. “We’ve had a number of questions from clients about cloud solutions, so we carefully evaluated a number that we felt were possibilities. Hands down The Planet provided the best solution for our business. The fact that bandwidth is included with each virtual server, accompanied by predictable pricing with no surprises, provides us with assurances that our clients will find this to be a good product for their specific requirements.”

After two years of private testing, OnApp v 2.0 has been launched to respond to market demands for a cloud engine for hosting providers. OnApp v 2.0 provides hosting companies a cloud management system with multiple benefits that will increase revenues, cut costs and increase stability. OnApp has been successfully implemented by a handful of private companies who used it to deploy over 30,000 VPS servers worldwide, attesting to its flexibility, reliability and adoption in the marketplace.

“OnApp v 2.0 is the kind of solution that enables hosting companies to scale more efficiently and move from dedicated servers to clouds, and jump on board before the market leaves them behind. OnApp was a pioneer cloud engine that is now thoroughly market proven and is the most customizable cloud software that service providers can own and grow with. It will help hosting companies build their brands and reputations in the marketplace,” says Carlos Rego, MD of OnApp.

Initially, v 1.x of the OnApp cloud engine software was designed by a team with deep hosting experience to meet the specific market requirements of VPS.NET; the ability to deploy custom virtual machines in a matter of minutes, set up public or private clouds (with no overhead) and manage all server resources on a virtual platform. Additionally, support for multiple operating systems is handled with ease with OnApp’s technology, which enables simultaneous hosting of servers with various operating systems. It runs on commodity hardware, such as Dell or SuperMicro and it can adopt any SAN/Storage solution available.

“The demand for cloud hosting was beyond our expectations; more than 10,000 servers went live within seven months of entering the market, and have now deployed almost three times as much on our OnApp powered platform, making it the fastest growing entity within the UK2 Group, outselling dedicated servers 10:1” says Nick Nelson, MD of VPS.net.

Merrill Lynch estimates the cloud computing market will reach $160 billion by 2011,OnApp reduces the barriers to entry for hosting providers to tap into this lucrative and rapidly growing market.

OnApp is a fully customizable cloud engine, with built in failover and resource management, utility and resource based billing, support for both Windows and Linux VMs and can be deployed in less than one day.

Currently OnApp is offering a promotion that gives clients the first year for free and a subsequent monthly licensing fee of $10 per physical CPU core that includes free setup, integration and 24/7 phone support.

About OnApp
OnAppdelivers virtualization and cloud infrastructure solutions that enable service providers to offer public and private clouds. With over 30,000 deployed virtual servers in less than 2 years, it is becoming one of the fastest growing cloud platforms in the market and the preferred choice for hosting providers looking to scale into the rapidly growing cloud industry. OnApp has offices in US and Europe and employs over 35 developers and can be found at www.onapp.com.

Hosting Zoom, an industry-leading provider of web hosting services, today announced the rollout of a number of new customer-focused support initiatives. Under the lead of the recently hired Director of Support, enhancements to the client dashboard as well as a revamped Service Level Agreement (SLA) demonstrate Hosting Zoom’s dedication to their client base. The new Director of Support, Jim Sowell, was recruited into the role a couple months back and is tasked with managing support services, quality and communications.
Several hundred improvements have been made to the client dashboard, the most notable ones being the following:

- Reply to ticket updates and notification via emails
- New ticket escalation processes
- Create multiple users (up to 5) with access controls
- New ticket rating, feedback system and search features
- Integrated rewards points and ordering
- Many order form improvements including order tracking
- Rewards points and affiliate stats improvements
- New private messaging system
- Monitoring improvements include uptime reports and logs
- Ability for dedicated and VPS clients to add monitoring with instructions free of charge
- Manage private name servers
- Automating all orders, API improvements

A new SLA includes a 100% uptime guarantee and a new 10X (1,000%) SLA credit for all clients. See the exact details of the SLA at www.hostingzoom.com/tos.php.

“Our clients have proven to be some of the most loyal in the industry, and we wanted to thank them for their continued business by reaffirming our commitment to them,” says Greg Landis, CEO of Hosting Zoom.
“Research consistently shows the cost of acquiring new customers is always higher than retaining existing ones. Higher customer satisfaction and positive word-of-mouth will complement our compelling sales initiatives we have readied for the fall and winter.”

If you are want to set up a business online, you need a website, with good content, the best, clear presentation and the best web hosting. Good web hosting can make all the difference in the world as far as your traffic is concerned. If your visitors feel their patience is getting tested while they are waiting for your page to load, you will lose their interest and they will leave.

The problem is, a lot of people get intimidated with the thought of having to create their own website, so they outsource this job to professionals. While this is a viable option, it is often an expensive one because web designers charge quite a lot. Of course, if you are the more adventurous type and like a challenge, you may want to try your hand at doing one yourself – even if you have
never attempted one before.

The good news is that, today, with Wordpress, almost anyone can design and set up their own website. There are hundreds of free Wordpress themes and templates available – along with free plugins to help automate the process, and you don’t have to be a super-geek to do all that. Still, it helps to have some help and guidance along the way – especially if it comes free.

Bestwebhostingforall.com is a website that addresses this need – to provide a resource for people just starting out in building their own websites. There are tips and resources to go step by step. For example, the first step is: how to register your domain. At the site, there is a sincere and patient effort to explain to someone just getting started out – why it is important to spend some time doing keyword research, how to use the keyword tool in Google, what to look for amongst the various web hosting providers to see which ones have the best web hosting services, a detailed web hosting comparison chart giving the various pros and cons of the different providers, how to monetize your website so it makes you an income, etc.

Next they tell you how to set up your DNS, install Wordpress, how to use various Wordpress plugins, and market your website

effectively and competitively in the search engines – using methods like SEO, why tools like an autoresponder are essential to

your website, where to study internet marketing, which tools are the best to use for SEO analysis, how to get ranked in Google, etc.

In reviewing the website, we found it quite engrossing – with detailed content, in an easy to read language. It seems that new

entrants to the world of website-building just got easier with Bestwebhostingforall.com.

Hurricane Electric, the world’s leading IPv6-native Internet backbone and colocation provider, today announced that its IPv6 Evangelist, Owen DeLong, will discuss IPv6 transition at HostingCon 2010, the premier conference and trade show for the hosted services industry. The show will take place July 19-21 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas. On Wednesday, July 21st, Owen DeLong will participate in a presentation entitled “Preparing for IPv6 Deployment.” Owen will join John Curran, President and CEO, American Registry of Internet Numbers, to discuss how network operators should strategically plan and implement IPv6 migration. The discussion will include guidance on how corporate IT departments can migrate to a dual v4/v6 stack, with information on configuring DNS, web and e-mail servers, and DHCP/SLAAC.

“I plan to tell attendees how to gain an advantage over their competitors by beginning their IPv6 transition now,” said Owen DeLong, Hurricane Electric’s IPv6 Evangelist. “If done properly, IPv6 transition can be a relatively painless process and yield a number of advantages, such as simplified network configuration and IT service extensibility.”

Hurricane Electric first deployed IPv6 on its global backbone in 2001. This backbone is one of the few that is IPv6-native and does not rely on internal tunnels for its IPv6 connectivity. IPv6 is offered as a core service and every customer is provided IPv6 connectivity, as well as classic IPv4 connectivity.

Last November, Hurricane Electric announced that its IPv6 network had doubled in less than a year to more than 600 associated IPv6 backbones. As of today, Hurricane Electric has further increased its count of associated IPv6 backbones to more than 830.

In addition to offering enterprises free IPv6 certification, last year Hurricane Electric released an IPv4 depletion Application for the iPhone and Google Android platform plus additional tools to educate CIOs and network administrators about the urgency of this transition.

About Hurricane Electric
Hurricane Electric is a leading Internet Backbone and Colocation Provider. Hurricane Electric operates its own global IPv4 and IPv6 network and owns several data centers in Fremont, California, running multiple N-by-10 Gbps links throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Founded by Mike Leber in his garage in 1994, Hurricane Electric now operates the largest IPv6 Internet Backbone in the world as measured by the number of networks connected.

Cloud Linux Inc., a software company dedicated to serving the needs of hosting service providers, today announced the release of SecureLVE, an extension of its Lightweight Virtual Environment technology which creates a higher level of security for shared hosting servers. The company avers that SecureLVE provides a virtualized file system, which separates each user on the server into its own virtual environment, preventing one user from seeing any other users on the server. It claims that this new server security makes it difficult for hackers to attack, deface, or steal data from the shared web server.

The company states that SecureLVE is based on its Lightweight Virtual Environment technology, which allows the administrator to control CPU usage on a server at the tenant or application level. Providing a security layer that limits the available applications, devices, and what a user can see in the file system, SecureLVE technology makes it harder for an attacker to penetrate the server.

It articulates that on a typical shared server, one user can often see other users on the system, as well as in some cases, their configuration files, including passwords. By compartmentalizing each user in its own environment and limiting the commands that each user can execute, the vector of attacks against the server is significantly diminished and server’s overall security is enhanced. With SecureLVE, many attacks that can happen on the server are completely prevented.

The company further states that the release of this new innovative security tool is further demonstration of its promise to help service providers increase security, stability and control of the server environment for more efficient and profitable operations. It invented the Lightweight Virtual Environment, a kernel-level technology that limits the amount of resources (CPU, I/O, memory) available to a specific process or customer. LVE isolates specific hardware resources in a lightweight environment and prevents one tenant on a shared server from affecting others, especially due to a sudden peak load from a single tenant.

It explains that SecureLVE provides the system administrator with functionality similar to container based virtualization, but on the application level, instead of the OS level. It will fill the gap between shared hosting and Virtual Private Servers (VPS), and will allow server administrators to increase server stability and density while greatly improving the security of shared hosting. Server owners can continue to limit available applications and limit accessible devices but without the performance monitoring and server management required for container based virtualization. The company adds that the software is available to all its subscribers.

“SecureLVE is the first out-of-the-box solution that delivers a high level of security in a shared hosting environment,” states Igor Seletskiy, Cloud Linux Inc. Founder and CEO. “At Cloud Linux we will continue to deliver tools that improve the stability and security of the hosting environment, and give hosting providers the control and flexibility they need to manage the more complex challenges brought on with the rise of cloud computing.”
